If true its a gutsy controversial pick.If Michel fails its a career over for the coach and a strike for the gm.Lets see who the assistant coaches are hope Robinson comes over.

Not that I like this choice, if it is indeed Bergevin's pick.

His coaching record in MTL.
LOL, the early 00's team was even worst than the one we had this year.

I'm just stating what his record there as a coach was...I never said that he was a good/bad coach.
He was good with the Pens took them to the Finals and eventually lost and then the Pens started very slow the season after that and he was fired.

Serriously though.. Hes who i wanted.
Therrien was a pannelist @ a daily hockey show called L'Antichambre. After all his comments regarding Scott Gomez, I'm excited to see how this plays out lol

If Joel is at the tail end of it and promises to learn French and has assistants like Desjardins to soften the blow, then I can sit through 2 years of "De Rien" all over again. But there are no assurances. What if he's canned mid-season and the Habs are doing well? They can't just toss aside Therrien. I think Bergevin is hoping but his plan for now is to hire Michel and maybe get him a studded staff of assistants. I don't see how this exactly helps the Habs future but hey, when all you can hire is 5% of the total candidates out there, this is what you can expect. Clearly to soften the blow of the PR disaster incurred last year under Cunneyworth but the political climate around the team is so ridiculous that even bilingual Irish Montrealer Pat Burns would be a controversial choice if it was made today instead of in 1988.

This is going to be fun.
Never forget that slice ur throat gesture he had to Mclaren after that dirty hit on Zednik. And also the rant with the Pens about their soft D lol.
In all seriousness, not ideal but best of what is out there.
